I work with couples at whatever stage of commitment: married, dating and premarital, and committed romantic partnerships. I believe this special connection, being part of an intimate team with a shared vision, is the most effective way to grow and deepen as an individual. That’s why I’m passionate about helping you to improve your relationship so that both partners can function better and live life more happily, confidently and to fully benefit from the advantages inherent in a mutually rewarding romantic partnership.
Most simply, healthy, secure relationships are good for you – they increase your self-confidence, lower your blood pressure, allow you to take meaningful risks, and provide mutual trust in a rapidly shifting world.
As such, I’m a trusted long-term resource for many couples who work with me intensively for an appropriate period of time (usually 6 – 8 sessions) transitioning to “maintenance” or coaching as you move through the shifting seasons of partnership.
Therapy tailored to support the valuable commitment you’ve made to one another and to address your unique relationship strengths, challenges, and concerns. Following our first full session, I will provide a Comprehensive Relationship Treatment Plan for us to review. This includes agreed-upon goals for improvement, a framework for how this happens, and a flexible timeline to help your relationship function better.
Designed for couples who are exploring long-term commitment with their partner and want to deepen their connection by developing better skill sets including communication, conflict resolution and repair, healthy relationship habits, and the ability to address areas of conflict, confusion, and concern in a safe, supportive environment.
As an individual therapist, I approach our work together from a trauma-informed perspective. If you have suffered from anxious distress or depression, we will work together to understand the genesis of these symptoms, bring healing and wholeness, and repair your sense of identity, possibility, and self-worth. My research and training focuses on the role of attachment trauma in the presentation of anxiety and depression, and I utilize cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and inner child work to assist my clients in flourishing in their lives.
